Learning to crack climb is an unforgettable experience that unlocks a new world of climbing adventures! Now you can check out every classic multi-pitch trad route in the country with a higher degree of confidence and efficiency.

During this course, we share a variety of crack climbing skills - from skin protection and crack sizing to jamming techniques and resting. All necessary and valuable skills needed for this style of climbing!

  • Learning to crack climb is an valuable skill for any climber! Our team will increases your fun, freedom, and confidence in this tricky style of movement.

    During this course, we will share a variety of skills with you starting with-

    + how to protect and care for your skin
    + terminology around crack varieties and sizes
    + jamming, locking, lie-backing, squeezing, stemming techniques
    + pacing, resting, planning for a crack route

    As you gain knowledge, we'll encourage you to put everything together as you climb some fun cracks!

  • Pre-Course Call:

    Our team extends the offer to schedule a group call before your course. They will discuss crag options for the day, review gear needs, and share a general time plan for the climbing day. This is also a great way to ask any questions.

    Morning:

    Meet at the trailhead given to you by your guide, share in some group hellos, and share a morning meeting,

    The team will make any small adjustments to the kit and then take a stroll to the crag.

    An integral part of climbing is familiarity with the area and its history. Our team shares some stories and educates as we approach.

    Seminar:

    Focus on building strong foundational skills in outdoor climbing through lessons and climbing on the wall.

    As technical systems become more efficient, switch your attention towards climbing movement.

    End Of Day Debrief:

    At the cars, we focus our attention on the day; sharing the Rose, the Bud, and the Thorn to ruminate more deeply on the experience. It is often customary ( but not mandatory) to have a meal back in the town to celebrate the great days spent in the mountains!

Technical Experience

Top rope belaying skills preferred.

Fitness

General physical fitness is recommended. Climbers should be able to be outside for approximately 8-hours while staying engaged and climbing.
