Whether this is your first time to Colorado or your hundredth, “seeing” what Eldorado Canyon is all about should be high on your list! The canyon offers routes for everyone, from short, easy approaches on your first multi-pitch to powerful and technical climbing far off the deck on a stretch goal you’ve been working on for years.
Our team has world class traditional guides with hundreds of climbs in the canyon making our team some of the best guides in the country to show you this canyon, whatever your goals are. Of the less than six or seven guides that can guide it all, including The Naked Edge, we have three. Let’s share an unforgettable adventure together.
As one of the world's finest and most famous climbing areas, Eldorado Canyon State Park needs little introduction. It consists of steep, beautiful conglomerate sandstone walls up to 700 feet high, in brilliant shades of gold and red.

Pre-Trip call
Our team extends the offer to schedule a call before your guided tour. They will discuss route options for the day, review gear needs, and share a general time plan for the trip. This is also a great way to ask any questions about the day!
Our Morning
You will meet your guide at the Eldorado Canyon Park and Ride or The Lower Eldo Lot in the park and share a quick morning hello, and the day’s itinerary. The team will make any small adjustments to the climbing kit and then take a stroll to our climb.
An integral part of climbing is familiarity with the area and its history. Our team shares some stories about the area, seeking to educate as we approach the climb.
The Climb
After about 10-30 minutes of hiking depending on your objective, we are at the base of the climb! If it’s your first time on a multi-pitch our guides will start with instructions and reminders on gear and its removal, proper hydration, the rope systems, and belaying a leader. After that, finish with a partner check, and then the team climbs!
End Of Day Debrief
At the cars, we focus our attention on the day; sharing the Rose, the Bud, and the Thorn to ruminate more deeply on the experience. It is often customary (but not mandatory) to have a meal back in the town to celebrate the great days spent in the mountains!
Technical Experience
Depending on the objective guests should will range from having only general climbing experiences such as belaying and tying in, to multiple days climbing with a guide before attempting a harder and more committing route. We will breakdown climbs into Intro, Intermediate, and Advanced skills levels.
Fitness
Moderate physical fitness is recommended to climb route in the canyon. Climbers should be able to hike and climb for approximately 6 hours while carrying a small pack.

Smile focuses on small groups and ratios that meet/exceed the professional standards of mountain guiding.
Our guiding ratio is 2:1 ratio, two guests with one guide.
Eldo can accommodate groups of four climbing on the same route or adjacent routes where the groups are close together.
Please reach out if you have a group larger than four. The park can accommodate this size group, but we may have to climb routes in different areas within the larger group.

Yes! Eldo offers climbing for everyone, including people new to multi-pitch climbing. Our team works with you throughout the day to help build confidence while on route and can meet you where you’re at no matter the experience level.

Yes, we provide the following gear at no charge. Helmet, harness, climbing shoes, and a small multi-pitch backpack. We can also provide additional climbing equipment such as carabiners and a belay device upon request.
